YUE Collaborates with Yiu Fung to Launch Collaborative Menu Legacy of Aged Flavors

A proud advocate of celebrating and honoring local culinary heritage, the exquisite Cantonese restaurant YUE at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel joins forces with Yiu Fung, a renowned Hong Kong confectionery brand that has stood for over six decades, to present Legacy of Aged Flavors, a limited-time menu. Elegantly combining modern Chinese cuisine with traditional preserved treats, the collaborative menu is a refined gastronomic experience that showcases culinary wisdom and the sophisticated yet increasingly rare craftsmanship, inviting guests to savor the rich tapestry of tastes shaped by over half a century of culinary heritage.

Glistening with timeworn elegance, these Cantonese-style preserved delicacies were once treasured as luxurious indulgences — a small taste of sweetness in simpler times. Except for bringing little joys to the palate, these flavor bombs also have various qualities, from stimulating appetites and combating nausea to soothing sore throats and ailing dry coughs. Founded in 1964 in Causeway Bay, Yiu Fung is a well-established preserved fruit brand with its ‘Three Treasures’, preserved plums, preserved mandarin peel, and preserved winter ginger. A regular of the brand and fascinated by the versatility of these treats, Executive Chinese Chef Jacky Chung Chi-Keung meticulously selects a few more Yiu Fung treats to combine with seasonal and premium ingredients to reinterpret some of the classic dishes, using their distinctive flavors to impart extra oomph and depth — while paying homage to these cherished delicacies.

“As a local, I grew up eating the products of Yiu Fung and these (preserved) treats certainly represent the multifaceted culinary heritage and knowledge of Hong Kong,” said Chef Jacky. “I am proud to collaborate with this historical brand and serve our international guests a menu that is filled with a taste of nostalgic Hong Kong to let them have an in-depth look at Cantonese cuisine.”

Viego Szeto of Yiu Fung has described the menu as one of the collaborations that he is most excited for. “We have persisted in preserving the flavors of Hong Kong for over half a century, this philosophy has never wavered. I look forward to our collaboration with YUE, where we can share our culinary roots and traditional craftsmanship with diners who love Cantonese cuisine.”
