Bistro Hoi An Opens Its Doors at ELEMENTS
Celebrating the Aromatic Cuisine of Vietnam’s Rich Heritage
Sip Creative Cocktails, Spirits and Beers Infused with the Country’s Botanicals
Now open at Civic Square in ELEMENTS, West Kowloon, Bistro Hoi An is a vibrant new dining destination celebrating the fragrant flavours and rich culinary heritage of Vietnam. Set within a striking two-storey venue overlooking the outdoor piazza, the bistro is designed for everything from sunlit gatherings to unforgettable private events—where the aroma of herbs like lemongrass, mint, and perilla fills the air.
Backed by Cafe Deco Group, Bistro Hoi An blends the intimate charm of French colonial dining with the cultural depth of ancient Hoi An—a riverside port city known for its colour and character. Spanning over 5,500 square feet and seating more than 170 guests across two floors and outdoor tables, the space is warm and welcoming. Lanterns glow gently against wood, leather, exposed brick, and polished tile. A mural of Hoi An life along the canals adds a nostalgic touch, making it feel both contemporary and timeless.
The kitchen at Bistro Hoi An is the heart of the experience, sourcing a wide variety of imported Vietnamese herbs and spices—from coriander and galangal to shallots and chilli oil. The result is a menu that balances authenticity with innovation, reflecting the true diversity and vibrancy of Vietnamese cuisine.

Appetisers like Shrimp Ceviche with calamansi nuoc cham and Beef Tartare with fried youtiao and betel leaf bring a refreshing East-meets-West kick. Chargrilled Pork Jowl with tamarind sauce, and Vietnamese Chicken Skewers with pineapple-cilantro dip are must-orders, while golden Buttered Garlic Chicken Wings satisfy every craving.
Traditional rolls and salads are elevated with seasonal produce and bold flavours. Try the Crispy Pork & Taro Spring Roll wrapped in fresh lettuce and herbs, or the Soft Shell Crab Rice Paper Roll with its satisfying crunch. Salads like Honey Pomelo Prawn are a perfect citrusy counterpart to the heat of summer.
For something more indulgent, the signature Banh Mi features fillings like grilled pork or beef with foie gras pâté and pickled vegetables. Noodle soups such as Bun Bo Hue, simmered for 12 hours, and Crab & Tomato Vermicelli Soup are deeply comforting. The Bun Tron platters—like Grilled Chicken or Eggplant Avocado Bean Curd—are equally hearty and herb-laden.

Bigger dishes include Hoi An Suckling Pig with sriracha hoisin, Turmeric Whole Seabass served with pomelo and lettuce, and the ultra-tender M9 Wagyu Bavette with sticky beef sauce. Roasted Three Yellow Chicken with palm sugar and lemongrass, and Vietnamese-style King Prawns with foie gras sauce are standouts, both in flavour and presentation.
For dessert, expect a playful and refreshing finish. Caramelised Popcorn Banana with Biscoff gelato, Coconut Sherbet with mango and honeycomb, and Vietnamese Affogato are all modern takes on classic ingredients.
The drinks menu is just as creative, celebrating Vietnam’s botanicals and spirits. Gins from Lady Trieu—crafted with jasmine, lotus, and tea—shine in cocktails like Dalat Garden and Go with the Pho, which blends gin with beef broth and Vietnamese spices. The Sapa Colada, made with rice milk and toasted rice foam, is as beautiful as it is bold.
For non-drinkers, mocktails like Hoi An Cong Chua (rose tea and lychee) and Phu Quoc Sunset (grapefruit and smoked sea salt) offer just as much flavour and flair.
There’s also a curated selection of Vietnamese craft beers, ciders, and the signature slow-drip phin coffees. Cà Phê Trứng (egg yolk coffee) and Cà Phê Muối (sea salt coffee) are beloved local staples worth trying, while the iced coconut coffee, Cà Phê Dừa, is a tropical dream.
“We are excited to welcome Bistro Hoi An to ELEMENTS,” says Angelo McDonnell, CEO of Cafe Deco Group. “Its stunning space and inventive menu deliver a true celebration of Vietnamese cuisine, tradition, and joy.”
